I’m Eleanor. Or Nel. Or Ella. Or Treacle. But for the purpose of this blog, I’m going to keep it simple, and just go with Nel.
I’m a writer by trade, a magazine editor to be more specific, but I’ve always wanted to find a more creative outlet to indulge my passion for writing. Like many English graduates, I’ve dreamed of writing books for a living, but I’ve never quite been able to craft a narrative. As luck – or fate – would have it, it turns out that getting pregnant at the very same time as your two best friends provides a pretty generous supply of inspiration and stories. So, here we are.
So, about me. I’m a girly girl and a total romantic. I met my now husband, Dan, in my first year at Loughborough University, and married him seven years later in 2010 in a snowy, winter wedding at a beautiful barn in my home town in Oxfordshire. We first experienced the pitter patter of tiny…paws…in 2009 when we got our gorgeous yet very naughty basset hound, Mabel. You’ll hear a lot more about her later on.
I work hard, and I party hard, and am never happier than when surrounded by friends and a limitless supply of really good sauvignon blanc. The latter is making the whole pregnancy thing pretty hard!
I love travel, and literature, and animals, and mulberry, and anything that sparkles. But most of all, I love my friends and my family, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them.
